<description>The Season began more than 300 years ago, when rich families moved to London for the months Parliament met. They filled those months with balls, races and parties. It wound down around midsummer, and 12 August, the Glorious Twelfth, is remembered as its traditional end. Today the Season is a summer of famous events, like Royal Ascot, Henley and Cowes, and most of them are open to anyone with a ticket and the right clothes.</description>
